The Cyber Senate, an outreach platform for the cyber security industry, has announced key presenters and the agenda for the 3rd Annual Industrial Control Cybersecurity Conference in Central London this September.
Taking place on the 26 – 28 September, in Kensington, Central London, the third annual Industrial Control Cybersecurity Europe event will explore major issues facing the industry, such as vulnerability, threat detection and mitigation. It will also focus on how key industries such as Water, Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Power Generation, Alternative Energy and Smart Grids can ensure they have the proper plans in place to manage the risk of cyber attacks.
The conference is expected to attract some of the energy industry’s leading end users from across Europe. Delegates will be drawn from Operational and IT backgrounds, Government influencers, leading cybersecurity authorities and some of the world’s most influential solution providers. Previous conferences have been attended by figures from businesses such as Lockheed Martin, Office for Nuclear Regulation, Iberdrola, EDF, National Grid, RWE, Airbus and more.
Discussing the event, James Nesbitt, Founder of the Cyber Senate, said: “Unfortunately, cyber-attacks continue to pose a huge threat to the energy industry across Europe, as evidenced by the recent Ukrainian Grid incident, the previous attacks against the Norwegian oil and gas industry, Saudi Aramco and the risks posed by cyber weapons like Stuxnet, Black Energy, vulnerabilities such as Heartbleed and hackers such as Dragonfly.
“This conference aims to bring together key stakeholders to discuss how we can work together to ensure the safety, reliability and stability of Critical National Infrastructure through developing appropriate public and private partnerships and ascertaining the most effective ways to share information on an international level.
“Previous conferences have attracted some of the most prominent thinkers in the cybersecurity industry and we hope that the 2016 event will provide delegates with the information, skills and knowledge they need to protect their organisation, both now and in the future.”
